Honda EV Maintenance Guide

2024 Honda Prologue Elite AWD

What services should be on your Honda electric car maintenance schedule? The good news is that Honda EV routine maintenance is quick and simple, especially when compared to gas-powered vehicles. Though you’ll still need to schedule things like tire rotations and filter replacements around Aurora, you can say goodbye to oil changes and other engine work! Holman Honda Centennial has assembled a Honda EV maintenance guide to help you keep track of every service, so you can keep your car in top shape. Let’s get started!

Honda EV Routine Maintenance

Your Honda electric car maintenance schedule will include a variety of tasks, including both general maintenance and EV-specific services. Take a look at what you can expect at the service center:

  • Battery: Your mechanic will check your battery’s fluid levels, filler openings, connections, and battery cycle. Most batteries can last over 100,000 miles on the Parker roads.
  • Coolant: Your coolant helps to regulate temperatures and keep the battery in good shape. Expect regular coolant checks and antifreeze flushes at the service center.
  • Brakes: Your brakes need brake fluid top-offs from time to time, so keep an eye out for the “brake warning light” on your dashboard.
  • Tires: Rotate your tires every 5,000 to 10,000 miles or so. Your owner’s manual will let you know the proper interval for your particular Honda. Alignments should be performed every 15,000 miles or when you notice your vehicle pulling to the side.
  • Filters: Your air filter sweeps away pollen, dust, and debris that circulates the cabin. Replace the filter every 2 or 3 years, or every 5 years for a HEPA filter.
  • Air Conditioning: From old refrigerant to contaminated lubricants to broken heater pump elements, a lot can go wrong in an AC system! Keep cool on the Denver roads with regular trips to the service center.
  • EV Station: Most at-home EV stations need little maintenance, but a little spot cleaning can go a long way. Use damp cloths and dish detergent for Level 1 and 2 systems and check the outlets for wear and tear.
